I gained 11% of my time by leaving my phone away

Nothing new here, yet by putting it in practice I experienced great results.

TLDR

Put your phone away save time and let your brain rest.

Productivity Tip of the Week

Remove negative habits instead of adding more positive ones.

Hello and welcome to #004.

I hope you had a productive week. As for me, I experienced something truly fascinating that changed my approach to work and rest. By making a simple yet impactful change, I managed to gain a remarkable 11% of my time back. What was this game-changing shift, you might ask? It was as simple as leaving my phone aside during the day.

Mindless scrolling was draining my brain.

Let me paint a picture for you. Whenever fatigue or a mental roadblock hit me in my work as a developer, my reflex was to reach for my phone. During moments of waiting for the train or commuting to and from work, my default mode was mindless scrolling. Unfortunately, this habit only drained my energy further and created even more barriers to finding effective solutions.

By leaving my phone away I let my brain rest which increased my creativity.

However, everything changed when I started leaving my phone aside at these moments. Instead of falling into the trap of mindless scrolling, I took a walk or allowed myself to wander out of the window. By giving my brain a true break, I found myself feeling less fatigued and breaking through mental barriers with greater ease. It felt so good that I no longer felt the urge to mindlessly scroll during my train rides back. Instead, I found myself reading my book.

Approach consuming content through my phone with conscious intention and avoid spending too much time.

Now, let me be clear—I still engage with digital content and scroll through my phone. However, I now approach it with conscious intention and avoid spending excessive time on it. This newfound awareness has transformed my relationship with technology, allowing me to utilise it as a tool rather than being consumed by it.

Start small and regain not only your time but your brain back, thank me later.

If you're longing to break free from the cycle of endless scrolling and regain control of your time, I encourage you to experiment just like I did and see how much you change by doing so simply.

Let’s crush it this week!
